Logistics company Venipak has increased the number of compartments at its most popular parcel lockers in Latvia by around 15% this year. The expansion of parcel locker capacity in Latvia forms part of more than €2.5 million in investments in infrastructure development and modernisation across the Baltics. The company’s total investment this year is its highest in several years. At the same time, logistics terminals in Lithuania and Estonia are being expanded and modernised, while process automation is also being increased.
This year, Venipak is placing particular focus on increasing parcel locker capacity in the most heavily used locations. The number of compartments at the company’s most popular parcel lockers in Latvia has increased by around 15%. Parcel locker capacity is also being expanded in Lithuania and Estonia.
“In Latvia, we are currently focusing on increasing capacity in locations where parcel lockers are used most intensively. This allows us to handle larger parcel volumes, particularly during the busiest periods of the year. Our goal is to ensure that, even as parcel volumes continue to grow, deliveries remain convenient and timely for our customers,” says Sanita Bērziņa, CEO of Venipak Latvia.
Increasing automation and terminal capacity across the Baltics
Alongside the expansion of its parcel locker network, Venipak is investing in the development and automation of its logistics terminals. Rapidly growing parcel volumes and labour market conditions are prompting the company to place increasing emphasis on technological solutions and reducing reliance on manual processes.
Most of this year’s investments are being directed towards infrastructure development projects in Lithuania. From September, the company is moving into a new terminal in Klaipėda that is approximately 60% larger than its previous facility and covers 3,900 square metres. The upgraded infrastructure will enable Venipak to handle twice as many parcels as before.
This autumn, a new automated parcel sorting conveyor will also be installed at Venipak’s largest logistics terminal in Kaunas, increasing sorting capacity from 3,000 to 7,000 parcels per hour.
“Kaunas is our main logistics hub in Lithuania, connecting parcel flows across the Baltics and Poland with the rest of Europe. The new sorting line will enable us to process parcels faster and more accurately, while also increasing the overall efficiency of the network,” says Andrius Ladauskas, CEO of Venipak.
In the first half of 2027, Venipak also plans to relocate to a new 13 500-square-metre logistics terminal in Vilnius. The project represents a total investment of €16 million.
Expansion is also planned in Ukmergė and Šiauliai in Lithuania, as well as at the Tartu terminal in Estonia. The company is also considering opening an additional terminal in Estonia and modernising other sorting centres.
Venipak currently operates around 800 parcel lockers and 25 logistics terminals across the Baltics. The company employs approximately 1000 people and works with around 350 independent couriers.
Venipak Group generated revenue of €85.6 million in 2025, with EBITDA reaching €12.4 million.
