YEP News portal covering trusted news from Europe’s public broadcasters launched

YEP News, a new multilingual news platform launched Monday, aims to provide trusted journalism from European public service media. By leveraging AI alongside human oversight, it curates and translates news stories into five major European languages, making quality journalism more accessible. Built on the success of A European Perspective (AEP), YEP News helps audiences navigate an increasingly fragmented media landscape.

YEP News, launched yesterday, is a groundbreaking multi-lingual news website that delivers trusted news from European public service media, including ERR News. Its aim is to curate insightful journalism and guide audiences through what has become a fragmented media landscape.

YEP (Your European Perspective) News builds on the success of A European Perspective, a pan-European networked newsroom that collects nearly 3,000 stories daily. YEP News features a selection of these stories, helping them to find a wider audience. It further translates them into five major European languages: English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish. It harnesses the power of AI, used alongside human oversight, to curate stories that appear on YEP News. The huge recent leaps in the accuracy and speed of AI translation mean that the new portal can bring large quantities of stories to new audiences in their language of choice.

“YEP News helps us see the world — and our shared challenges — through a fresh lens. Often, solutions lie just across the border. By breaking down borders and language barriers, YEP News serves as a hub for reliable information, powered by cutting-edge technology,” said Wouter Gekiere, AISBL EBU-UER managing director.
