WeSky is a Lithuanian startup which has developed an in-seat charging solution for airplanes. The company has now attracted another EUR 1.036 million in investment from the Coinvest Capital venture capital fund, as well as a group of business angels.
“The main goal of the investment is to accelerate our growth in the global market,” says WeSky founder Vytis Petrusevicius in a news release. “We will pursue this through three strategic directions. We plan a new round of investments on product certification to meet the line-fit requirements of one of the main aircraft manufacturers. This will allow for our solution to be installed directly on the aircraft manufacturing line.”
Coinvest Capital has taken a 75% share in the investment (EUR 777,000).
WeSky products are already used on Airbus 330 commercial aircrafts (retrofit). During the next phase of development, the company plans to implement its solution during the manufacturing process as such. This is known as line-fit.
