“Lidl Latvija” turnover increased by 7.5% last year, investment phase continues

Retailer “Lidl Latvija” closed the 2025 financial year with a turnover of 495.6 million euros, which is 7.5% more than the year before, when the company worked with a turnover of 460.8 million euros. Last year, “Lidl Latvija” continued its investment phase, investing a total of 20.3 million euros in its development.

“Lidl Latvija’s” 2025 financial year began on March 1, 2025 and ended on February 28, 2026.

Priorities – the best price and customer loyalty

During the 2025 financial year, the company continued to actively expand its store network in the country and strengthen its technological infrastructure and competencies. Last year, two new stores were opened – in Bauska and Krustkalni, in Ķekava parish. Similarly, “Lidl Latvija” continued to invest in various company processes, as well as introduce modern digital solutions, such as the new contactless payment solution “Lidl Pay”.

“Our main promise to customers has not changed – to provide the best price-quality ratio. The customer has always been at the center of our attention, and we focused on ensuring the lowest prices every day, not only in various promotions, last year as well. We continued to invest in price competitiveness in this difficult global food price situation. Our efforts are also confirmed by the data from the market research company “SeeNext” – in several their surveys the lowest prices were found at Lidl stores in Latvia,” says Janusz Przemyslaw Wlodarczyk, CEO of “Lidl Latvija”.

In 2025, “Lidl Latvija” was one of the largest taxpayers in the country, paying more than 72 million euros in taxes to the state budget.

The company managed to reduce its losses by almost half, reaching 10.9 million euros, as opposed to losses of 18.3 million euros a year earlier. The company continues to invest and develop its network of stores in the country.

Salary growth and “Top Employer” rating

The company’s successful results are ensured by an efficient and talented team, whose salary growth and qualification improvement are constantly invested in. In the 2025 financial year, “Lidl Latvija” increased employees’ salaries in stores and the logistics center, investing an additional 3.2 million euros, and keeping promise to pay the highest average salaries in the food retail industry.

Systematic attention to improving working conditions yields results and international recognition – this year, “Lidl Latvija” has received the prestigious “Top Employer 2026” and “Top Employer 2026 Europe” certificates for the fourth year in a row.
