Estonia: Elron’s train ticket sales disrupted due to cyber attack

Elron’s train ticket sales are disrupted on Wednesday due to a cyber attack on the ticketing system.

The ticketing system provider is trying to resolve the situation.

“The sale of Elron’s train tickets online at www.elron.ee and also from the trains’ ticket machines has been disrupted, because during the day there have been cyber attacks against the ticket sales environment managed by Ridango,” Elron’s communications manager Kristo Mae said.

“It is possible to buy a ticket on the train from the customer service staff by paying cash. As long as the situation is being resolved and it is still not possible to buy a ticket on the train for technical reasons, passengers can travel for free. Elron apologizes for the inconvenience,” he added.

The Information System Authority (RIA) has been informed of the incident and Ridango, which provides ticketing system services to Elron, is working to resolve the situation.
