Lithuania is considering acquiring Iris-T medium-range air defense systems from Germany, Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasciunas said after meeting with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius in Lithuania’s Baltic Sea resort of Palanga on Tuesday.
“I can say today a very important thing, in my opinion, that we are very much considering the acquisition of the Iris-T medium-range air defense system from Germany. A system that has proven effective, that works, that is effective in Ukraine, and could soon become part of our armed forces over the next couple of years,” Kasciunas said.
