Prices for nearly all types of heating in Estonia are expected to rise as the heating season begins, ERR reports.

The increase could be particularly steep for households using natural gas, whose price on the global market has more than doubled.

Most homes in Estonia use district heating, while others rely on firewood, gas or heat pumps.

A Türi resident told ERR she paid €80 per cubic meter for firewood in May, more than in previous years.

The head of firewood seller Harju Puu said firewood prices had risen only slightly over the past year because raw material prices had remained stable.
